I LOVE accent pieces of furniture! They just bring so much life and character to a room. They make a room personal and more interesting. When we got married we were very fortunate to
inherit a bunch of furniture. Although it's older furniture and not necessarily my "dream" furniture, we have been so grateful to have been given so much.....for free!! But the more I'm around it, the more I want a change, a
face lift. We were 2 of the following chairs. Over the years the color has faded and because of the light color they show the dirt. I think they're good chairs in good condition, they just need a
face lift...

I keep debating if I want to
reupholster the chairs or just make slipcovers for them. I know this picture is on my other blog, but I LOVE the slipcovers on these chairs! I think they'd look so cute pared with a solid color sofa. The more I think about it and the more comfortable I get with my sewing machine, I think I'm going to make slipcovers for the chairs. I just think it would be easiest. Now if I can only find this beautiful fabric...

I also have this side table in my living room. Lets be honest, this brown is not my favorite furniture color. It looks old and dated. But, like the chairs, it was free. Who's gonna turn down free furniture?!

I've been debating what color I want to redo this table in. The more I think about it the more I want to do it in a bright blue. I've seen bright blue done in a few friends houses and I LOVE it! It looks so fresh and fun! I'm not quite sure what shade of blue I'm going to do it in yet. I like the blue table in the picture above with the
slipcovered chairs. I also came across this blue table on a friend's blog and LOVE it!
So tonight we went to The Home Depot to get some paint chips. Now it's time for the big decision. What shade of blue will I choose?!! I also bought a sander, so I guess I'll focus on first things first and get the puppy sanded down. I'll keep you updated on what the final products look like...that's when I find the time to do them! I guess I don't feel as nervous to do this to the table because it was free.
